JD MCCASLIN

Founder, Chairman & CEO

JD McCaslin has been a leader in the multifamily development industry for more than 35 years. Since 1980 he has led the development, syndication, construction, management and disposition of more than 10,000 multifamily units. Today JD is responsible for strategic planning, risk management, operations and investment decisions for JDM Co. Throughout his career JD has been recognized for numerous professional accomplishments. In 1986 Professional Builder selected him as DFW’s National Housing Giant and Builder of the Year. In 2003 the National Association of Home Builders named one of his communities the Best Luxury Multifamily Development in the U.S. In addition to overseeing projects at JDM Co., JD is an active member of the Dallas community. He serves on the board of the Urban Alternative and is chairman of the Salvation Army DFW Advisory Board. He is a past Camp Board member of the Salesmanship Club of Dallas. JD received a BBA in Finance from The University of Texas in Austin and an MBA from Southern Methodist University.

BILL HARLAN

Senior Vice President Construction

Bill Harlan leads all construction teams for JDM Co. With more than 40 years working in construction, Bill’s experience is unmatched. In 1982 he founded Mclan Builders with JD McCaslin, which became the general contractor for all of JDM Co.’s multifamily projects. Together Bill and JD have built more than 5,000 multifamily units in Houston and the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. In addition to his partnership with JDM Co., Harlan has served as general contractor for other major developers. He has built, owned and managed numerous apartment projects and developed single-family lot subdivisions throughout Texas. Bill received a BBA from Southern Methodist University.

JOAN MAXWELL

Property Manager

JDM Co. has long relied on Joan Maxwell to lead property management for its communities. Currently Joan is president and COO of Omnium Management Company. During her long career in multifamily housing, her expertise in property management has contributed immeasurably to the development process and successful lease-up of more than 9,000 apartment units. Her strength in this area has established a successful record of operational and lease-up procedures and portfolio management protocols. Joan received a BBA from the University of North Texas.
